You must be BORN AGAIN!

John 3: 3 Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."

Most people when they read this passage of scripture think about requirements for heaven. “You must be born again.” But let’s see this statement for what it is. You must be born again. Why? Something only needs born again if it’s currently dead. In reading the teachings of Jesus we see that sin causes death and that our ambition is life! No one wants to be dead. Not really. People want to experience life. We spend a ridiculous amount of money on health products each year. The reason being that we all want long, satisfy, sustained life. The only alternative to life is death. Let’s look at the characteristics of death: cold, unproductive, weak, dark, and lonely.

The characteristics of life are much more inviting: warmth, fruitful, strong, vibrant, and connected. Sin would love to end all of those things in our life. If we truly examine our existence against these two sets of descriptions we can tell if we have life or death.  Do we feel warm, strong, fruitful, vibrant and connected? Or do we feel cold, dark, unproductive, weak, and lonely? Use this as a litmus test for your faith, your finances, your dreams, and your relationships.

Here at Revive, it’s our goal to see people come from death to life. John 1:4 says that in Jesus there is life and that life is the light of men.  We want to see people born again, set free, healed, and discipled. We want to see them experience the life of God.

1 John 5:12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

We experience life when we receive the Son of God. I encourage you today to accept Jesus Christ in every area of your life.

Here are 3 characteristics of a person who has life in Christ.  You can see these qualities in examining the lives of first believers after studying acts. You can also see these qualities in a newborn child.

Alive Christians are hungry and thirsty. Receiving Christ will cause you to hunger for His presence, His word, and His ways.

Alive Christians seek the love of their family. The early believers met daily. Encouraging one another and building each other up.

Alive Christians desire to be clean and to have the waste of their lives removed. 1 John 2:15-17 writes “ love not the world neither the things of the world.”

Please join with us and believe that we will see people born again, set free, healed, and discipled.

God Bless,
